I’ve been thinking about the sheer bravery and quick response from the officers and the Buchanan County Drug Strike Force during that terrifying day back in '98. It's hard to imagine the chaos and fear they were dealing with in the moment. Officer Arn showed such incredible courage facing a gunman armed to the teeth. It’s a real testament to his character and commitment to the safety of others. The fact that Sergeant Miller was able to effectively neutralize the threat with such precision is remarkable. Shooting only twice and ending the rampage while lives hung in the balance shows the level of professionalism and calm under pressure these officers exhibited. We can’t overlook the profound impact this must have had on Sergeant Miller and his fellow officers. It's a tragic reminder of the dangers they face and the split-second decisions required in the line of duty. My heart goes out to Officer Arn’s family, and deep appreciation goes to all who serve and protect our communities so selflessly.
