Was the security situation in the neighborhood at that time really that sketchy? I read that the 4200 block of East Kossuth Avenue had a reputation for crime, but it’s gut-wrenching to think that such a violent encounter happened so close to home for many residents. I've been thinking about the trauma this must have caused Brian Jermon and Franchelle Harris's families and friends. It’s terrifying to imagine opening your door to such danger. I really hope community leaders and residents can come together to address the conditions that may have contributed to this tragic event. My heart goes out to all who knew Brian and Franchelle; they didn’t deserve this. Does anyone know if there have been any neighborhood initiatives or meetings since then to improve safety, or at least to honor their lives in some way?
I came across the case of Brian Jermon and Franchelle Harris recently, and I can't stop thinking about the impact this tragedy must have had on their families and friends. It's hard to imagine the pain of losing loved ones so suddenly and violently. What stood out to me was how this case seemed to be part of a larger wave of violence in St. Louis at the time. It's frustrating and saddening to think about how many families have been affected by the surge in gun violence in just a few days.
I wonder if the community around the 4200 block of East Kossuth Avenue might hold some answers that could lead to a break in the case. Often, someone knows something but might not feel safe or confident enough to come forward. Let's hope that changes and someone decides to share what they know, for the sake of Brian, Franchelle, and everyone who loved them. Keeping them and all victims of violence in my thoughts.
