Did anyone else catch that recent episode of the "Unsolved Mysteries" podcast that featured Linda Mayfield’s case? It just breaks my heart knowing that after all these years, her family still doesn’t have answers. I found it interesting when they mentioned the composite sketch based on the DNA phenotyping from 2019. It’s incredible what technology can do now, but still, no closer to finding her killer. It must be so frustrating for her loved ones, knowing there’s a DNA profile out there but no match. I can’t even imagine their pain. It seems like Parabon's work has solved other cold cases; hopefully, they'll succeed with Linda's too. Praying that justice will be served soon. Anyone else have thoughts on how breakthroughs in genetic genealogy could finally provide answers?

I’ve been digging into Linda Mayfield’s case, and can’t stop thinking about the location—Starlite Motel. Was anyone local back in 1982 who can provide some insight into the type of area it was around that time? Was it a popular spot or known for sketchy activities? I feel like understanding the environment might give more context about who could've been around that night. It’s so frustrating to know we have DNA and genetic genealogy tech but still no arrest. My heart goes out to Linda's family; they’ve been waiting for answers far too long. Anyone else have thoughts on this angle?

Has anyone else been following Linda Mayfield's case? It's so tragic that after all these years, her family is still searching for answers. I was reading about the disturbance reported at the Starlite Motel. It's hard to fathom that with someone causing such a scene, there wouldn't be more witnesses or clues that could have helped the investigation back then. Given the multiple stab wounds Linda suffered, it seems likely that her attacker was in some serious rage or panic. I can't imagine the fear she must have felt, and it’s so sad that her life was cut short so violently. It makes me wonder if anyone out there might still remember something that could help. Would love to hear your thoughts, especially if anyone has insights into how these cold cases sometimes get reopened. Let’s hope for some resolution for Linda’s family.
