Did anyone else hear about the candlelight vigil that was held for Deandre last year? I read about it online, and it seemed like the community really came together to honor his memory. It’s a constant reminder of how deeply he was loved and missed by so many. I hope this case doesn’t fade into the background. Somebody out there knows something, and it just takes one person to come forward to make a difference. My heart goes out to Deandre's family, and I can’t imagine what they're still going through after all these years. Justice is long overdue. Let's keep this conversation going and hope for a breakthrough soon.

It's been over eight years, and I'm still thinking about the tragic loss of Deandre Hawkins. I wasn't fortunate enough to know him personally, but I've followed his case closely. What keeps haunting me is the brazen nature of the crime. It happened in a public spot, near Walton and Delmar, during a time when someone surely must have seen or heard something. The description of the suspect is quite specific, yet it seems like nobody has come forward with solid information. I wonder if there are people out there who are scared to speak up or if there's a piece of the puzzle we're all missing. Deandre's family deserves answers, and it's infuriating to think that the person responsible is still out there. I really hope people who were in the area at that time will find it in them to come forward. Every little bit of information can make a difference. My thoughts are with Deandre's loved ones; they deserve closure and justice.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact that Deandre Hawkins’ death must have on the community, especially around the Walton and Delmar area. It's really unsettling to know that there’s still no arrest in this case despite the suspect description. I can't imagine the frustration and grief his family and friends must feel, knowing there are still so many unanswered questions. It's not just about finding the person responsible but also about ensuring that Deandre's death isn't just another statistic in the city’s ongoing battle with gun violence. We should be putting more focus on rallying community support to push the investigation forward. Those in the neighborhood who may have witnessed something—even if it seems insignificant—need to come forward and share what they know. It's a small but crucial step towards achieving justice for Deandre. Thoughts and prayers are certainly with his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.
