I was reading about DeMarco Watson's tragic passing in Ferguson back in 2015, and I can’t stop thinking about his family and friends who were left to deal with such a sudden and senseless loss. It's so unsettling when young lives are cut short in these violent acts. From what I understand, there was a big push from the community to make sure justice was served, but it makes me wonder about the lasting impact on those who knew him.
Does anyone have insights on how communities rally together in the aftermath of such tragedies? I imagine the emotional and social toll is enormous. It's heartening to see when neighbors and local leaders step up to support each other, but it's equally disheartening to think about the trauma that lingers. How do you all think communities can continue to support families in the long term beyond just the immediate aftermath? I'd love to hear your thoughts or any experiences you might have had with community responses to events like this.
