Has anyone else been following the updates about Sigaria Shanklin’s case? I’m constantly thinking about her family and what they’re going through right now. One aspect that really bothers me is the issue with witness testimonies. It’s so frustrating to see how crucial this is for bringing justice but how easily it can become a roadblock. I completely understand why some people might be scared to come forward, especially if they fear for their safety, but it breaks my heart that this resulted in the charges being dropped. I hope there are new leads or evidence soon because Sigaria and her loved ones deserve closure. Any thoughts on how communities can better support witnesses in situations like this?
