Has anyone else been following Ben Westhoff's book about Jorell Cleveland's case? I just finished reading it, and I can't stop thinking about how Ben highlighted the systemic issues contributing to Jorell’s tragedy. One thing that struck me was how Jorell was mentoring through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program – there's something so inspiring and heartbreaking about how he was trying to make a positive impact despite all the adversity in his life.
It’s been years, and still no answers. How is this even possible? You'd think that with all the advances in technology, something would've turned up by now. The fact that nothing was taken, and he was ambushed like that, makes it all the more chilling. It feels like there’s something bigger at play, some aspect we just don’t see. My heart goes out to his family – I can’t imagine their ongoing pain and frustration. If Ben can help bring light to these dark places, then maybe there's some hope. Anyone here read the book and have thoughts?
