I was thinking about how Brian Grimmett had moved to Manhattan, Kansas in hopes of finding some peace away from the violence of Kansas City. Isn’t it incredibly sad how he was just visiting family when tragedy struck? It’s alarming how gun violence can reach someone even when they’ve made efforts to distance themselves from it. I can’t imagine the grief his family is going through, especially with him being such a loving dad and partner. His decision to take his nephews back with him for the summer says a lot about the kind of person he was—always looking out for his loved ones. It’s just so painful to think about his daughter growing up without her dad. The city really needs to address this ongoing violence. This should serve as a wake-up call, as it’s not only affecting those living there but even those who have left in hopes of a safer life. Hoping that someone comes forward soon with any info that could help bring justice for Brian.
