Hey everyone,

I've been following the case of Harry Lee Atkins, and one thing I've been wondering about is the role that community safety measures played during that fateful July 4th weekend. Saint Louis saw such a tragic spike in violence, and it's clear that something was amiss. Our cities should be safe places, especially during celebrations. What happens to deter such senseless tragedies? I've heard mixed opinions on how effective policing strategies were at the time, but it seems more needs to be done to foster a sense of security and peace. Does anyone from the area have insights or thoughts on what the community has been doing since then to heal and prevent more violence? Sending thoughts to Harry’s loved ones, hoping for answers soon.
Would love to hear your perspectives!
Hi everyone,
I’ve been following the case of Harry Lee Atkins and was struck by the impact this tragedy must have on his family and the community. I came across some discussion about the location where Harry was found. It seems it’s a spot that’s known for being particularly dangerous, even outside of the chaos of that July 4th weekend. I can’t help but wonder if this area’s reputation contributed to the slow coming forth of witnesses. When places become high-risk, people might be too scared to speak up, fearing retaliation or simply getting involved in the violence.
It’s tough, because without witnesses willing to share what they saw or heard, justice can be so much harder to achieve. I can't imagine how frustrating and painful this must be for Harry’s loved ones, waiting for answers. If there’s anyone on here from Saint Louis, how does the community feel about coming forward with information? Is there enough protection and encouragement from the local authorities?
Hoping for some more light to shine on this case soon. Harry and his family deserve to find peace.
Take care,
