I recently stumbled upon the tragic case of Jamar Lamont Hicks from back in 2017, and it really got me thinking about the community's response and involvement in such situations. From what I gather, it seems like the Columbia Police were quite active in urging the community to come forward with any information that could help solve the case. It’s disheartening to see that even with such outreach, the case remains unsolved. I think it highlights an important issue: how can communities be more effective in helping to solve these crimes? There’s always talk of people being afraid to come forward due to fear of retaliation, but how can we better support those who might have vital information? It’s clear that fostering a stronger sense of trust and protection could be crucial steps. I can't imagine the pain Jamar's loved ones are going through, and how frustrating it must be to know that no one has been held accountable. My thoughts are with his family and friends.
