Has anyone looked into the son's background or any potential mental health issues he might have been struggling with? It's devastating to think that a father-son relationship could end in such tragedy. I'm curious if there were any signs leading up to that terrible night that might suggest this was more than just an "accidental" act as claimed. I can't imagine the pain both sides of the family must be facing right now, and it makes you wonder what might have been done differently to prevent this. If there's anyone who understands the legal process, how likely is it that the self-defense or accidental claim will hold up, given the number of stab wounds?

I've been following the Steven Pettit case, and something that really stands out to me is the conflicting narrative about the stabbing being an accident. As an avid outdoorsman and someone who handled firearms, Steven likely prioritized safety. It’s hard to reconcile this with the idea of an accidental stabbing, especially when multiple wounds are involved. It's tragic to see a life filled with service and passion for outdoor activities end this way. My heart goes out to his loved ones. I can’t imagine the pain of navigating this loss while grappling with the complex family dynamics involved. I hope the investigation provides clarity and serves justice for Steven and his family. Surely the community must be struggling with such a shocking event; it changes how we see the people we think we know.
