I’ve been following Genna Clements’ case for a while now, and the most recent updates have truly left me puzzled. It’s so hard to come to terms with the fact that someone can be held accountable for such a violent act and yet walk away with a mere decade behind bars. Considering William Pearson Jr.'s long history, it's frustrating that before this plea deal, there were multiple instances where society missed the red flags. My heart goes out to Genna's family and friends who must be struggling to find peace knowing the person responsible for taking her life will have served just slightly over five years in the end. I can only hope that justice, in whatever form it takes, brings them some semblance of closure. How do others feel about the justice system when it comes to dealing with repeat offenders?
