I'm really struck by the resilience of Deon Hernandez after what happened on that terrible day in August 2018. Surviving such an ordeal is hard enough, but to endure the paralysis and changes to his life is something I can't even begin to imagine. It's incredible how he managed to face each day following such a traumatic experience. I hope he has a strong support system helping him cope and adapt to such drastic changes. The path to healing, both physically and emotionally, is long and challenging, but his strength is truly inspiring. My heart goes out to Deon, Mack's loved ones, and all those affected by this senseless act. It’s a reminder to all of us to cherish our loved ones and advocate for safer communities.
