I've been following the tragic case of D'Angelo Bratton-Bland, and my heart truly goes out to his family and friends. It's such a devastating loss for someone so young and full of promise. What strikes me most about this case is the role of fraternity culture in what happened that night. D'Angelo was out with a group pledging for a school fraternity, and it's such a bitter twist of fate that he ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. It's worrisome to think about how these social gatherings can sometimes turn dangerous, especially when there’s a huge emphasis on secrecy or proving oneself. It makes you wonder how these environments can be better managed to ensure safety. Does anyone else see a need for reform or stricter safety measures in college pledging processes? We should be ensuring that our young students are given the ability to flourish, not be put in harm's way. Sending strength and love to those affected by this senseless act.
