I’ve been following the tragic case of Dorian Whitlock, the four-month-old girl from Saint Louis, and it really got me thinking about the role hospitals and healthcare professionals play in spotting and preventing child abuse. In such heart-wrenching cases, early intervention can be crucial. It makes me wonder if there were any signs that might have been missed during Dorian's visits to the pediatrician or other healthcare settings. Are there effective strategies or protocols in place that could possibly prevent future tragedies? My heart goes out to Dorian’s family and everyone affected. They deserve justice, but I can’t help but think about what we as a community could do to become more vigilant and proactive in protecting children.
