When I read about the tragedy involving Cartrell Amos and the young 14-year-old Marcus Williams, my heart truly goes out to their families. One thing that keeps gnawing at me is how this reflects on the wider issue of unsolved homicides in our community. As a local, I've seen how often stories like these become just another statistic. Is anyone else frustrated by the lack of progress? I mean, in a city with a solve rate less than 50% for cases like Cartrell’s, it’s so disheartening to think about the countless families living in uncertainty. Does anyone have thoughts on what steps we or the community might take to push for more resources to solve these cases? It feels like we must keep shining a light on these stories to ensure they aren't forgotten.
Does anyone else feel utterly frustrated by the lack of movement in Cartrell Amos's case? My heart goes out to his family and friends who are left looking for answers day after day. It's exasperating to think about how many families in Saint Louis are experiencing this same heartache because of unsolved cases. It's alarming and disheartening that the solve rate is especially low for Black victims. I've been hearing all these stories about how communities rally around to push for more resources and attention to these cases, and I really hope it starts making a difference. I just keep thinking about Cartrell and that young boy, Marcus Williams. Why are there no significant leads, especially when a kid was involved too? It shouldn't be just another statistic. We need to keep talking about these issues and support the families in any way we can. If anyone has any other similar cases or info, maybe we can connect some dots.
