I'm just floored by the outcome of Clenelle Johnson's case. It's baffling how someone can walk into a place unarmed, end up losing their life, and the shooter walks free. It seems like there’s a major disconnect between what we think self-defense should mean and how it's interpreted legally. Johnson's family must feel beyond hurt and confused, having to deal with this loss and the court's decision. My heart goes out to them. No one should have to endure such a situation, especially when the person they’ve lost was known for spreading joy and positivity. I can’t imagine the void they're experiencing right now. How can the system be so blind to the suffering left in the aftermath of such decisions?
I can't even begin to imagine the pain Clenelle Johnson's family is feeling. One thing I've been thinking about in this case is how Missouri's "Castle Doctrine" played such a pivotal role in the verdict. I'm not a legal expert, but it seems these laws can sometimes create really complex situations. Patrick claimed he was disoriented and believed he was in danger, but it’s haunting to think how easily misunderstandings can lead to such tragic outcomes. Clenelle wasn't just some unknown entity barging in—he was a man looking to lend a hopeful hand. I hope his family finds some peace in the memories of his kindness and those moments that made him such a loved member of the community. It must be incredibly hard knowing his killer walked free, but I hope they receive all the support they need.
