I've been thinking a lot about the Dill Road route where Devon was unfortunately found. I drove down that road a few times, and it's not a place you'd want to get stuck at night, especially if you're not familiar with the area. It's chilling to imagine what happened to him there.
Has anyone else wondered why it took so long for the authorities to find him if Allen Shafer called 911? I mean, it's concerning to think about how many precious hours were lost. Of course, I'm hoping lessons were learned about responding to rural areas more efficiently.
It's clear Devon's community loved and respected him, and it's incredibly sad that such a vibrant young life ended this way. My deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends, and all who knew him. If anyone has more insight into how rescue responses work in those areas or similar experiences, I'd appreciate knowing more. Such insights might help push for changes that could save lives in the future.
It's so deeply saddening to think about Devon "Porkey" Massey and how his life was cut so unexpectedly short. I came across his story recently, and I can't stop thinking about how one night can change everything. What really has me puzzled is the 911 call that Allen Shafer made. It's surprising that he couldn't give the location when he reported the shooting. Was it panic, confusion, or something else that led to such critical information being missed? I'm curious to know how common it is for calls like these to get so confusing, especially when every second counts. It's tough to imagine the pain Devon's family and friends must be going through, and I hope they're finding some comfort from the community's support. Does anyone here have any experience or knowledge about how such emergency calls are typically handled, especially in rural areas like Dora?
