Hi all,
I've been following Turner's case since I first heard about it, and one thing that really caught my attention is the fact that neither Turner nor his friend were wearing life jackets. I know it's been discussed before, but it seems worth highlighting again. It got me thinking about how different the outcome might have been if they had just taken that one safety precaution.
I’ve read that Turner was no stranger to the water, having kayaked before, but it’s a strong reminder that even experienced individuals are not invincible. It makes me wonder if he was aware of any kayak safety guidelines or if he just thought he was immune due to familiarity. Does anyone else have thoughts on why life jackets aren’t used more often, even by those who know the risks?
Hoping for closure for Turner’s family and friends.
Hey all, I wanted to bring up something that's been on my mind about Turner Taber Jenkins' case. Has anyone else looked into the weather reports for the morning of January 18, 2019? I mean, kayaking in Puget Sound is already challenging, and I came across some data suggesting that conditions were pretty rough that day. It makes me wonder if they were aware of the forecast before heading out. I know it doesn’t change the situation, but understanding the circumstances might provide some closure or at least shine a light on how quickly things can go wrong in nature. Anyone familiar with kayaking around Bainbridge Island have thoughts on this?
