Hey everyone,
I’ve been following Bryant Robert Everett Wilks II’s case, and I can't shake the feeling of how much he had going for him before his life was senselessly cut short. Has anyone else delved into the broader implications of safety — or the lack thereof — around neighborhoods like West Brookside Lane in Columbia? It's clear from the property damage and multiple shots fired that night that the community has been on edge, and this incident has just magnified it.
Bryant was such a bright light, and it's truly tragic to know he was prepping for an early graduation and excited about being an uncle. I think it speaks volumes about him that he balanced school with managing a job at Dairy Queen. This wasn't just a random act of violence but a major loss that the community has to grapple with.
Have others noticed any increased efforts by the city or community organizations to address these safety concerns since this tragedy? I really hope more preventative measures are being considered not just for justice for Bryant, but to keep others safe too. Hearts are definitely with his family and friends during this unimaginable time. Let's continue to share anything we can, no matter how small, to aid the investigation and push for that necessary change. Stay safe, everyone.
