I’ve been following Mallam Tifah’s case, and one thing that's been haunting me is thinking about the impact on his family and friends. Despite his past, which so many seem quick to judge, he was a person who had people who cared about him deeply. The pain they must be experiencing is unimaginable. Losing someone, especially in such a violent way, is something you can’t easily come back from. It's frustrating to see how gun violence continues to affect communities, tearing families apart. The fact that this all unfolded in broad daylight in the Lewis Place neighborhood is so unsettling. I really hope justice is served, but also that this leads to deeper conversations in the community about how to prevent these tragedies in the future. And Anwar Shands – if he’s indeed responsible, it makes me wonder what led him to such a regrettable path. So many lives impacted by one terrible decision. My thoughts are definitely with everyone affected.
