I came across a post on Facebook about JayJay and was struck by how much he meant to people in the community. It's evident that he was more than just a basketball player or a kid with dreams of being a barber; he was a friend, a brother, and truly loved by those who knew him. It’s so hard to imagine the pain his family is going through, especially after experiencing another unimaginable loss in 2016 with Jayden and Montell. Reading about what happened to Tityana makes me wish things had turned out differently for her too. It's like the whole family got caught in a cycle they didn’t ask for. I hope the local community rallies around them and that there’s some meaningful action taken by city leaders to support families struggling with the aftermath of such violence. Losing someone in such a way is a tragedy that no family should endure.
