Hi everyone, I’ve been following the threads about Jerrell Berry’s tragic killing and something that really hit me is how this case sheds light on the need for better community ties and public safety measures. I grew up not too far from Benton Park West, and it's so sad to see another young life lost. I wanted to share this thought: could strengthening neighborhood watch programs or community-led initiatives help? I know that policing strategies have been a big topic of discussion, but maybe empowering residents to work together could make a difference. Sometimes, the people in the community know best about who’s struggling or what’s happening on their streets. Also, has there been any word on vigils or community events to honor Jerrell? These spaces can be healing and maybe bring more people together to speak up if they know anything. Keeping his family in my thoughts; I can’t imagine the pain they’re feeling right now.
