Have you guys noticed that nobody's talking about the possible link between the incident in December 2018 and Matthew’s disappearance? Before he went missing, there was an assault he faced late in 2018 that often gets overshadowed by the focus on his last known day. Could that attack have influenced his mental state or even be directly connected to what happened in February 2019? It seems like such an unexplored layer to the whole situation. Also, thinking about how he was telling neighbors that his family had been murdered, I wonder if he was trying to communicate something specific related to the assault or if his mental health state at the time distorted reality for him. Did the investigators ever connect those dots or rule out any potential links? It would be interesting to know if there was ever a serious investigation into whether the assault had ongoing impacts that might explain his actions or disappearance. Thoughts?

I was reading up on Matthew Anfeldt’s case and something really jumped out at me. There are a lot of details about his mental state on the day he disappeared. Matthew was seen with blood around his mouth when he went into that grocery store. Does anyone know if there was ever any explanation for the blood? Was it his, or was there ever any indication that he had been injured or involved in some sort of altercation before entering the store? It seems like such a crucial detail that could give us more context about what happened to him in those moments. I'm wondering if it could be linked to the assault he suffered a few months prior. There’s so much about his state of mind that we may not fully understand, but this piece of the puzzle seems like it could be really important. If anyone has more info or theories about this aspect, I'd love to discuss!
