In the late summer of 2019, a 44-year-old woman named Tonita Michelle Brooks vanished from the streets of Durham, North Carolina. She was a mother of three, known to her loved ones as "Lil Bit." Tonita was last definitively seen on September 23, 2019, in a county building in the downtown area of the city.
