On a summer day in June of 1978, a 19-year-old U.S. Marine named Gary R. Boutilier disappeared from Millington, Tennessee, a city in Shelby County. He was last seen leaving the Millington Naval Air Station on his new motorcycle. Gary, a Caucasian male with brown hair, stood somewhere between 5'5' and 6'3' and weighed between 150 and 230 pounds. That day, he had expressed his intention to go for a ride on some of the rural roads in the area, possibly in Shelby Park.
