Charles Robert Romer, 73, and his wife, Catherine, disappeared on April 8, 1980, from Brunswick, Georgia, in a case that remains unsolved. The couple was traveling from their winter home in Miami, Florida, to their permanent residence in Scarsdale, New York. They checked into a Holiday Inn near Interstate 95 around 3:51 p.m., but after settling into their room, they were never seen again. Their black 1979 Lincoln Continental, which bore a custom New York license plate, also vanished.
