On February 14, 1985, Shawn Heaney, along with fellow crew members Melvin Wick, Ray Basel, Paul Rowe, and Sveinn Adalsteinsson, was aboard a fishing vessel that went missing between Uganik Bay and Alitak Bay in Alaska. Despite extensive search efforts, neither debris from the boat nor the bodies of the crew have been found.
