In the winter of 1986, 34-year-old Michael 'Mike' Steven Sasina was living in Las Vegas, Nevada. On the morning of December 22nd, around 9:00 a.m., he told his family he was going for a walk. This was part of his regular exercise routine, a simple trip to the 7-Eleven located at the corner of Russell Road and Mountain Vista Street.
