On October 23, 1987, six-year-old Johanna Bunari, along with her two sisters, nine-year-old Eileen and five-year-old Yanti, went missing from Manhattan, New York. The three sisters were reportedly taken by their non-custodial father. At the time of her disappearance, Johanna was described as a White/Caucasian female with black hair and brown eyes, standing at approximately 4'5" tall and weighing 70 pounds.
