On the day he went missing, Dann was reportedly wearing a yellow raincoat, a green long-sleeved shirt, blue Levi's pants, and red rubber boots. He disappeared during a boating accident in Yakutat Bay. Another individual, Randy Ely, also went missing in the same incident. The Alaska State Troopers are the primary investigating agency for this case, which was reported on the same day the two men went missing.
