Robin Denise Appel Herring, aged 35, was last seen on April 22, 1995, near Goldfield Campground, north of Trinity Lake in Weaverville, California. Herring was with her boyfriend at the time when their pickup truck became stuck in snow. The couple had an argument, and Herring decided to walk away while her boyfriend attempted to dig the truck out. This was the last time she was seen.
Searchers later found several of Herring's belongings, including her jacket, fanny pack, and sunglasses, along with tracks believed to be hers. However, the trail went cold, and despite extensive searches, Herring was never found. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a white fur coat, brown snow boots, and jewelry, including a gold watch and silver bracelets. Herring had distinctive scars on her right cheek, wrist, arm, and leg, along with healed fractures on her right ankle and shoulder.
Despite the recovery of some of her personal items, no significant clues have emerged regarding what happened after she left the vehicle, and her case remains unsolved. The Trinity County Sheriff's Department continues to handle the investigation, and they encourage anyone with information to come forward.
