In the early morning hours of January 18, 1998, 36-year-old Jerry C. Lucas was last seen in Boutte, Louisiana. At approximately 5:00 a.m., he was seen getting into a cab near the intersection of Paul Mallard Road and Highway 90. His intended destination was the Union Passenger Terminal in New Orleans. At the time of his disappearance, Jerry was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans. He is described as a white male, 5'8' tall, and weighing around 145 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Distinctive physical characteristics include a previously broken nose and a scar on his left knee. He may have also had a mustache and a short beard.

Following his departure in the cab, Jerry Lucas was never heard from or seen again. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unclear, and very few details have been made public over the years. The St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office is the investigating agency, and they were first notified of his disappearance on January 21, 1998. His case was entered into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System much later, on March 30, 2020.
