The journey they embarked upon was a common one for residents of the region, yet this particular trip would end in mystery, with the boat and all its occupants vanishing. The group traveling with Mary consisted of four other adults and one child, turning this from a single missing person case into a larger tragedy that affected multiple families within the close-knit community.
