Tammy Myers-Esquivel, a 28-year-old mother of three, disappeared on December 19, 2006, from her home in Spring, Texas. At the time, she was living with her boyfriend, William Greer, after having left her husband. Myers had been working as an exotic dancer, where she initially met Greer. The couple's relationship turned abusive, and just days before Christmas, following a violent argument, Tammy was never seen again.
On December 22, 2006, Greer was found wandering naked and intoxicated in Cleveland, Texas, where he claimed to have accidentally shot and killed Tammy. Despite his confession, he was released due to a lack of evidence at that time. Greer fled shortly after, leaving investigators to suspect foul play. He remained a fugitive for nearly 11 years, during which time his two sons eventually came forward, revealing that they had overheard the fatal argument and gunshot on the night of Tammy's disappearance. Blood evidence and plastic wrap found at the couple's home suggested Greer may have disposed of her body, but it has never been recovered.
In 2017, after years on the run, Greer was finally captured in Mexico and extradited to the United States. He later accepted a plea deal for second-degree manslaughter.
