In the spring of 2007, an 18-year-old woman named Angela Jane Foxglove disappeared from the remote Inupiat village of Selawik, Alaska. Angela, an Alaska Native with black hair and brown eyes, was a young woman with a kind heart who her family remembers for her love of playing basketball and camping. The exact date of her last contact is uncertain. She was last seen on the evening of either May 23rd or May 24th, 2007, near an apartment building in Selawik. At the time she went missing, she was wearing black pants with white checkers, a black tank top, two blue sweaters, and Adidas sneakers. The circumstances surrounding Angela's disappearance are sparse. She had reportedly spoken of walking from Selawik to the village of Noorvik to visit her boyfriend. This detail is particularly concerning given the significant distance and treacherous landscape separating the two communities. Selawik and Noorvik are not connected by roads, and the roughly 33-mile journey on foot would require navigating extremely rugged terrain that includes wetlands, tundra, and patches of boreal forest. The clothing Angela was last seen wearing would have been inadequate for such a difficult and lengthy journey, especially considering the cold temperatures of a late May night in the Arctic. It remains unknown if Angela ever actually began the perilous walk to Noorvik. For nearly two decades, the disappearance of Angela Foxglove has remained a painful mystery for her family and community. The case, which is being handled by the Alaska State Troopers, has very few details publicly available regarding any investigation or potential leads that may have been pursued. The lack of information about what happened that night, or in the immediate aftermath, has left her loved ones with many unanswered questions. The overview of this case is that a young woman vanished from a remote Alaskan village after expressing her intent to travel on foot through a dangerous and unforgiving environment. Without any definitive evidence or witnesses to confirm her actions after she was last seen, her whereabouts remain unknown, and her case is an enduring and sorrowful enigma.
