Kino Michael Gomez, 57, was last seen on July 30, 2009, in Okanogan, Washington. Prior to his disappearance, Gomez was facing charges related to the July 17, 2009, shooting of Thomas Pfaeffle, a Seattle-based sound engineer. The incident occurred at a motel in Twisp, Washington, where Pfaeffle mistakenly attempted to enter the wrong room, leading to a confrontation in which Gomez allegedly shot him.
