On December 8, 2016, 24-year-old Maynor Vaile was on his way home to Muskogee, Oklahoma, after a work trip in Missouri. That day, he was on a phone call with his girlfriend, Melisa Contreras, when their conversation was abruptly interrupted. Vaile told her that he was being pulled over by the police and that he would have to call her back. This was the last time anyone is known to have heard from him.
