Jaymez Scott Perry, a 36-year-old man from Fort McCoy, Florida, was last seen on December 29, 2017. His final in-person sighting took place at the home of a relative in Los Angeles, California. At the time, Perry stated his intention to visit another relative in Santa Rosa, California, before returning to his home in Orlando, Florida. However, he never made it to Santa Rosa as planned.
Perry's vehicle was discovered abandoned on a remote jeep trail in the Ocala National Forest, just west of Lake Delancy, on January 10, 2018. There were signs that he had been living out of his car prior to disappearing. The vehicle was towed away in February of that year, but Perry’s disappearance was not reported to law enforcement until August 2020, nearly three years after he was last seen.
Despite search efforts in the same area for another missing person, no substantial leads have emerged in Perry’s case. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain a mystery, and his case is currently unsolved. Investigators continue to search for answers regarding what happened to him after his vehicle was found in the dense and isolated area of the national forest.
