The family had previously lived in Ozark, Alabama, before returning to Hesperia in 2019, where they were staying at a Motel 6 on Cataba Road. On the day they were last seen, Julie spoke with a relative over the phone, mentioning that she had secured a job cleaning trailers and that the family would soon be moving to Spring Valley Lake. Julie promised to call the next day, but no further communication was ever received, and the entire family has been missing since.
The family was not officially reported missing until 2021, two years after their disappearance. Since then, the circumstances surrounding their case have remained unclear, and no significant leads have surfaced.
