On October 6, 2019, Brooke Roberts, a 9-year-old girl, went missing along with her parents, John Roberts and Julie Englehart, from Hesperia, California. The family had been living in a Motel 6 in the area after returning to Hesperia from Ozark, Alabama, where they had moved in 2017. The move back to California occurred in 2019, and they were last known to be in the High Desert region before their sudden disappearance.
