In the winter of 2019, a then 16-year-old girl named Kiayah Sunshine Edwards vanished from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. On December 9th, the teenager was last seen after leaving her school, but she never made it back to her residence. At the time of her disappearance, Kiayah was described as being 5 feet tall and weighing approximately 110 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance were initially classified as a runaway case, with reports indicating she was a habitual offender in that regard. The days turned into weeks, and with no sign of Kiayah, her case was officially registered with the Oklahoma City Police Department under case number 2019-99808. The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) also listed her as a missing person, case number MP64197, in an effort to broaden the search and bring in any potential leads from the public. Despite these efforts, information about her whereabouts or what might have happened to her after she left school that day remained scarce. Her family and community were left with unanswered questions and growing concern for her safety and well-being. As years have passed since Kiayah was last seen, her case has grown cold, yet she is not forgotten. Law enforcement continues to keep her file open, hoping for a breakthrough that will provide answers. The lack of any significant leads or updates has left her loved ones in a painful state of uncertainty. The overview of her case is one of a young girl who left school one day and seemingly vanished, with the initial belief that she had run away clouding the immediate urgency of her disappearance. The passage of time without any contact has deepened the mystery and heightened the fears of those who are still waiting for her to come home.
