Mary "Abbie" Flynn, a 59-year-old woman from Gloucester, Massachusetts, was last seen on February 2, 2020. She had been preparing to host a Super Bowl party at her vacation home and was last in contact with her son through FaceTime at around 2:40 p.m., during which she mentioned going for a walk in her neighborhood. When her friends arrived at her home later that afternoon, around 4:30 p.m., they found her home prepared for the party, but Abbie was nowhere to be found.
Her phone, wallet, keys, and dog were left behind, and she has not been seen since.
Authorities initially launched extensive land and water searches around the Brace Cove area, a popular walking trail near her home. Despite these efforts, including searches by police, coast guard, and environmental officers, no signs of Abbie were found. The large-scale search was eventually suspended, though the investigation remains active. There is no evidence of foul play, and it is suspected that her disappearance may have been the result of a medical event or accident while walking.
