The story of Nylo Lattimore is a deeply saddening one that began in Cincinnati, Ohio. Three-year-old Nylo was last seen with his mother, Nyteisha Lattimore, in early December 2020. Concerns for their well-being grew after neighbors in their Walnut Hills apartment building reported hearing sounds of a struggle on December 5, 2020. The situation took a devastating turn when Nyteisha's body was discovered on December 12, 2020, near the Purple People Bridge on the Ohio River. She had been stabbed to death. The search for Nylo intensified, with the community holding onto hope for his safe return. The investigation into Nyteisha's death quickly led to her boyfriend, Desean Brown. As authorities delved deeper, a grim timeline of events began to emerge. It is believed that Nyteisha was killed in her apartment around December 5th. Tragically, investigators concluded that Nylo was also a victim of this horrific violence. They believe that in the early morning hours of December 6, Brown took Nylo to the Ohio River and threw him in while he was still alive. This belief was supported by the discovery of Nylo's empty stroller in the river, near where his mother's body was later found. Additionally, a blanket found with Nyteisha's body contained Nylo's blood. Despite extensive searches of the Ohio River by police and volunteers, Nylo's body has never been recovered. Desean Brown was arrested and charged with the murders of both Nyteisha and Nylo. Investigators have suggested the motive may have been Brown's anger over a miscarriage Nyteisha had suffered, for which he blamed her. In September 2025, Desean Brown pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated murder and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. The case remains a painful memory for the Cincinnati community, a tragic story of a mother and child whose lives were cut short. The search for Nylo, though now a recovery effort, has never officially ended for his family, who continue to seek closure.
