Thomas Mylon Gronewold, a 19-year-old seasonal worker for the U.S. Forest Service, went missing on August 7, 1966, while floating down the Kootenai River near Libby, Montana. Gronewold and his friends were enjoying a day on the river using inner tubes when they encountered rough waters.
