Arthur Harry Eckert, a 52-year-old man from San Antonio, Texas, went missing on March 2, 1986. He left his home that morning around 8:00 a.m., reportedly on his way to attend horse races in Austin. Driving a tan and brown 1974 Chevrolet, he never made it to his destination, and he has not been heard from since. At the time of his disappearance, Eckert resided at a permanent address on Overhill Drive but also frequented other locations, including a hotel in San Antonio.
Adding to the mystery, on the same day Eckert disappeared, his mother was found murdered. While the two events coinciding suggest possible foul play, there has been no resolution to either case. Eckert’s physical description at the time of his disappearance included being between 6'1" and 6'3" tall, weighing approximately 180 to 220 pounds, with brown hair, a full beard, and several distinguishing marks such as a scar on his forehead and a birthmark on his neck.
