However, Andrew later told investigators that although they spoke on the day of her disappearance, no meeting was scheduled.

Mary's black 1988 Chevrolet Corvette was found on January 26, 1994, in the parking lot of the couple’s closed restaurant, Louisiana West, in Van Nuys, California. The keys were found inside the locked restaurant, but there was no sign of Mary. Her disappearance raised concerns of foul play, particularly after an incident in December 1993 when three men threatened her, claiming someone had paid them to harm her. Despite these threats, they left without doing so, but refused to reveal who had hired them.
