In the late summer of 2020, the family of Vincent Boykin experienced a profound loss when he vanished from his community. On September 6, 2020, the 41-year-old was last seen in Trotwood, Ohio. Earlier that day, at about 8:05 a.m., he was seen walking near a Home Depot. His parents last had contact with him later that same day. When they went to check on him at his residence on Rockland Drive in Dayton the following morning, he was not there. Boykin, a Black male standing at 6 feet 4 inches and weighing around 205 pounds, was known to have black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans, a black belt, and white sneakers. Vincent Boykin is described as a person living with significant challenges. He is completely blind in one eye and legally blind in the other, with his vision limited to seeing only shadows. This noticeable disfigurement of his eyes is a key distinguishing feature. In addition to his visual impairment, he also contended with mental health issues. The circumstances following his disappearance quickly became concerning. On the evening of September 7, 2020, a critical clue surfaced when his cell phone was discovered in a wooded area approximately a mile and a half away from his home. This finding, however, did not lead to his location and only deepened the mystery surrounding his whereabouts. The Dayton Police Department opened an investigation into Vincent's disappearance, but few details have been made public since the initial report. His case is classified as an endangered missing person, particularly due to his medical conditions. The lack of new information has left his family and community searching for answers. The case is an ongoing and troubling puzzle: a man with severe visual impairments vanished after leaving his home on foot, with his only known communication device found abandoned in a nearby wooded area shortly after he was last heard from. The absence of further evidence or leads has left his case unsolved.
