On October 26, 2020, Fredrick Lee Huffman, a 44-year-old man from Atlanta, Georgia, told his loved ones he was heading out to run some errands, including a stop at the bank. He was wearing jeans, a button-down shirt, and a silver wedding band. Fredrick, who had shoulder-length, curly brown hair and blue eyes, stood at six feet two inches tall and weighed around 190 pounds. His departure that day was the last time he was seen by his family. The following morning, a text message was received from his phone, which was later traced. Concern grew when he did not return home, and he was officially reported missing to the Atlanta Police Department on the same day he was last seen.

A significant development in the case came three days later, on October 29, when Fredrick's 2010 Volkswagen was discovered abandoned in Flagler Beach, Florida, a considerable distance from his Atlanta home. Inside the vehicle, investigators found his wallet and cell phone. The discovery prompted an extensive search of the surrounding area. Law enforcement agencies, including the Flagler Beach Police Department, utilized helicopters, boats, and K-9 units in an effort to find any trace of Fredrick, but their determined efforts yielded no clues to his whereabouts. The search was particularly focused on the Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach areas, as his family indicated he may have had sentimental connections to those coastal communities.

The circumstances surrounding Fredrick Huffman's disappearance remain a painful mystery for his family and community. The initial report of a routine day of errands took a bewildering turn with the discovery of his car in another state, containing personal belongings that one would expect him to have. The thorough search by law enforcement in Florida, unfortunately, did not provide the answers his loved ones were desperately seeking. The case remains open, a quiet but constant appeal for any information that might shed light on what happened to Fredrick after he left his Georgia home. His family is left to wonder what events transpired between his departure and the abandonment of his vehicle hundreds of miles away. This case is an overview of the known facts surrounding a loving husband who went out for a day of errands and never returned.
