On the evening of Thursday, January 14, 2021, 44-year-old Farah Sheikh was seen for the last time in the Gravesend neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. Staff at the adult care facility where she resided reported that she left the center on foot and did not return. Her disappearance prompted the New York City Police Department's 62nd Precinct to open an investigation, and her case was entered into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System a few days later.
